"But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come, for men will be lovers of self..."

-2 Timothy 3:1, 2

The time has come. The fad of all fads today is the “selfie”. It has been the center of attention from Hollywood to the White House, throughout the media and even from space. Much of Facebook is a proliferation of “selfies”, and it is clearly an indication of the times in which we live. In a narcissistic age people will do almost anything to get their “fifteen minutes” of fame and draw attention to themselves. But is the problem “selfies” or self? We are told in Scripture to “flee from idolatry”, and there is no greater idol than self. We are exhorted to “do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit”. The Lord clearly said, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, let him deny himself… “So thanks be to God that “our old self was crucified with Him” that “we too might walk in newness of life”. In Christ we have victory over sin and SELF. Be encouraged!
