"Therefore, having been justified by faith..."

-Romans 5:1

What an amazing truth that we who were born in sin, practice sin, and will continue to sin for the rest of our lives have been justified by faith. When we come to Christ in saving faith, God declares us righteous as if we have never committed any sin. We are forgiven, and “As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.” From the moment of salvation, we stand in the righteousness of Christ as if we had never sinned. How is this possible? “He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him." When a person sins, He is guilty before God and deserves judgment and condemnation. However, with saving faith, God takes away the burden, the guilt, and the weight of sin because Christ died for that sin. "There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus." Be encouraged!
