Barbara Bray and I were married for 56 years. She died almost two years ago. Throughout our lives together we lived by her extraordinarily happy demeanor. It’s precisely because of the troubles we all face right now that her formula for happiness is truly important. It’s simple, it’s sensible, and it may work for you.
Barbara’s Ingredients of Happiness
• Strive to always say nice things about and to each other in private and publicly every day, everywhere
• Avoid saying the two or three divisive things we might love to mention every day
• Always better to be positive or blah than negative or inflammatory
• Keep negative, irritating, needlessly and intentionally abrasive people out of our lives
• Happiness is having a simple, sensible, satisfying life every day.
Happy New Year.
