“...I count all things to be loss...”

-Philippians 3:8

So many people see Christianity in a negative light. They view it as a list of do’s and don'ts, which takes all of the fun out of life, as all loss and no gain, with so much to be given up. But is that true? As a Christian, you give up the passing pleasure of sin for the joy of knowing Christ. You give up the love of the world for "the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge." You give up any effort to earn your salvation and stand in His mercy and grace. You give up the insecurity of an uncertain world "to obtain an inheritance which is imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away, reserved in heaven for you." Anything you might give up has no comparison to what you gain through "the unfathomable riches of Christ." Therefore, "count all things to be loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ." Be encouraged!
