"The kings of the earth take their stand... against the Lord and against His anointed."
-Psalm 2:2
This past Easter, the nation was called to celebrate sin, but as believers, we celebrated the One who did not sin, died for sin, paid the price of sin, satisfied the wrath of God against sin, had victory over sin, and the death that sin brings. Blasphemy against our Lord didn't begin last week; many blasphemous and slanderous things were said about the Lord while He was here on earth, for we read in Scripture: "Many of them were saying, He has a demon, and is insane; why do you listen to Him?” We listened to Him because, like the disciples of old, "we cannot stop speaking what we have seen and heard." We have heard the gospel, and it was the power of God that turned us in faith to Christ. We have seen how the Lord changes a sinner's life. Therefore, we expect sinners to live, act, and speak as sinners. Even blaspheming Him. But for us, we will continue to honor, praise, worship, and glorify the One who "died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures.” Be encouraged!
