"It is the Lord Christ whom you serve."
-Colossians 3:25
“It is written, you shall worship the Lord your God and serve Him only!” The word “servant” (doulos) means one totally possessed by, and a slave to, his master. The believer’s slavery to Jesus Christ is not some shameful subjection but a title of the highest honor. A servant was called to honor Christ and serve Him as his highest priority. Great men of God like Moses, Joshua, Job, David, and Paul were called servants of God. As a believer, you are also called to serve God “… as slaves of Christ doing the will of God from the heart.” Jesus said, "If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; And where I am, there shall My servant also be; if anyone serves Me, the Father will honor him." Therefore, “Serve the Lord with gladness.” Be encouraged!
