But Jesus said to him, “No one, after putting his hand to the plow and looking back, is fit for the Kingdom of God"
-Luke 9:62
What a privilege to be a disciple of Jesus Christ, to follow Him without compromise. A disciple will not look back, let up or be still. He is not ashamed of the gospel. He is done with the lack of purpose and mediocrity. He knows that most of what the world has to offer is of no necessity. Therefore, the temporal may bore him, but the coming Kingdom excites him. He no longer needs prosperity, position or popularity. He is content to be a servant of the King. His road is narrow, his companions are few, but his mission is clear. He is “steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord.” His work is not done as long as there is still one on this earth who needs to be saved. He cannot be bought, compromised, lured away or turned back. He is a disciple. Be a disciple. Be encouraged!
