"...they received the word with great eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily, to see whether these things were so."
-Acts 17:11
We hear a lot about “disinformation” today and how the government is becoming our guardian against such. No doubt, journalists and the social media have gained a reputation for reporting things as if they were true without anyone, even themselves, checking it out. You will find all kinds of examples of that with political correctness, critical race theory, the COVID pandemic and the recent so-called "Don't Say Gay" bill. Often, they make available what they want you to know, according to their point of view. Certainly, there is a danger of deception in the world today. But there is an even greater danger of being deceived when it comes to the Scripture. Recently, an article coming out of Harvard alluded to the Bible as being "rotten to the core" because it claimed when it comes to slavery, the Bible has an "irreconcilable contradiction." Has anyone checked that out? Another report from Princeton describes Jesus as a cross-dressing "drag king." If anyone actually cares about the truth, they will find by searching the Scriptures that Jesus is the “King of Kings, and Lord of Lords," holy, righteous and true. Jesus said, “Thy word is truth." There is no disinformation in the Scriptures. God has given us the Scriptures and the Holy Spirit, not the government, to be our guardian against disinformation both in and out of the church. Be encouraged!
