I can still remember the night when by faith, I trusted the Lord Jesus Christ as my Savior. Through the preaching of the Word, I was convicted of my sin and that Jesus was the only hope for salvation. I will never forget how I was released from the weight, burden and guilt of my sin. All of this was possible, not through my own effort but because "Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures." Secondly, "because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit," I knew immediately that no one loved me like Jesus. Shortly before his death at an old age, John Newton said his memory was almost gone, yet he could remember two things, "I am a great sinner, and Jesus is a great Savior" Amen! Be encouraged!
