"The wicked flee when no one is pursuing, but the righteous are bold as a lion."
-Proverbs 28:1
As we know, there is a growing resistance and opposition to Biblical Christianity here in the United States. As things progress, it may become challenging to remain openly faithful to Christ. Do we have the courage to confront the culture and the growing apostasy with biblical truth? In the early church, the Lordship of Christ meant to follow Him at all costs. However, during the Protestant Reformation, there were many groups of secret believers across Europe. Communism forced the church underground in Russia, and we still have it to a large extent all across China. In predominantly Muslim countries, openly confessing Christ would take great courage. Jesus said, "If they persecute Me, they will also persecute you…." Can we handle that? Will we be ashamed of the gospel leaving only the stones to cry out? But thanks be to God, we can be empowered by the Spirit, not ashamed of the gospel and speak the Word with boldness as trying times increase. Be encouraged!
