Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life; He who believes in Me shall live even if he dies.”

-John 11: 25

There is only One who can promise you life over death and back it up with His own resurrection. It was “through death He might render powerless him who had the power of death.” Only Christ could say, “I have authority to lay it down (His life), and I have authority to take it up again (resurrection).” Therefore, Christ can promise to all who believe they shall never see death. He is not speaking of physical death, which is the destiny of all, but of deliverance from (1) spiritual death, for we are alive in Christ, (2) bodily death, for we will be resurrected and (3) the second death, for we will not be condemned to eternal hell. Even though sin destines one for physical, spiritual and eternal death, placing your faith in Christ destines one for life eternal. Be encouraged!
