encouragement side

"Enter His gates with thanksgiving, and His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him; bless His name."

-Psalm 100:4

Although the progressive and politically correct elite are rewriting American history, we know that 400 years ago, the Mayflower reached the shore of what would become a nation that has had freedom like no other. They did not come because of slavery, as stated in the untruthful New York Times “1619 Project," but to seek liberty and religious freedom in a new world. The pilgrims came ashore in December of 1620. Facing food shortages, disease and opposition, half of them would die before spring. However, at the end of their first harvest in 1621, they celebrated the first Thanksgiving. It became an annual event by 1630, and in 1789 George Washington named Thursday, November 26th as a day of Thanksgiving. In 1941 a resolution by Congress set the 4th Thursday of November as Thanksgiving. Many realized today that the freedom the Pilgrim sought is now fragile but may our thankfulness to God never waver. Food, shelter and clothing can be taken for granted, but may we give thanks on November 26, 2020, because we know all that we have comes from His hand. Be encouraged!
