"Watch over your heart with all diligence, for from it flow the springs of life."

- Proverbs 4:23

Jesus taught, “out of the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, slanders.” In Scripture we are warned our hearts can “be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin”. When David sinned he prayed, “Create in me a clean heart, O God.” The Psalmist gives us the biblical approach when he writes, “Thy word have I treasured in my heart that I may not sin against Thee.” It has been said, “Hardening of the heart ages people more than hardening of the arteries” (anonymous). The Lord has done so much for us. He forgives our sin as we confess it and He strengthens our hearts through His Word. “And may the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God and into the steadfastness of Christ.” May we all say, “Let the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be acceptable in Thy sight, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.” Be encouraged!
