encouragement side

Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will not pass away.

-Luke 21:33

Changing times, cultural identity and political correctness have all had an influence on the church. Many today look differently at morality, creation and even the way we communicate the gospel and build the church. Has God changed? Has the Scripture changed? Does it require a different interpretation? Too many want the Bible to support cultural changes and therefore, believe we must look at Scripture differently. They apparently do not realize that the Bible has always been counter-cultural and will always be so in a sinful world. Being faithful to the Bible will find one in conflict with the culture, but that is exactly where the believer needs to be. How else can we fulfill our calling to be salt and light to the world? If you would ask what the Bible has to say today to our present culture, it would say the same thing it has always said. The Psalmist wrote, "Forever, O Lord, Thy Word is settled in heaven." Come to the Word, read it, believe it and obey it. Let the Word change you rather than you being changed by the culture. Be encouraged!
