"And without faith it is impossible to please Him..."

-Hebrews 11:6

To begin with, faith is believing or trusting the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation and forgiveness of sin. In receiving the free gift of eternal life, faith is total dependence upon Him and nothing of ourselves. Faith is also "the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen." Peter would say, "...though you have not seen Him, you love Him, and though you do not see Him now, you believe in Him." Even though faith gives assurance for the future, it will profoundly affect our present lives. For example, we are to know by faith that Christ will come again, "and everyone who has this hope fixed on Him purifies himself, just as He is pure." In essence, the Lord wants you to believe Him and trust Him with everything in this life and the life to come. The Lord did not say, "Well done, good, successful, and prosperous servant." Nor did He say, "Well done, good, popular, and influential servant." No, He said, "Well done, good and faithful servant;" Be faithful! Be encouraged!
