"Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord from the heavens."
- Psalm 148:1
At the Navajo Nation Fair a young Navajo came by our evangelism booth and after some discussion, he asked for a Bible and went on his way. However, before he got out of sight, he turned, came back and said to me, “I have been told to get to heaven you have to be sinless and that scares me.” Oh, if there were only more people who had such fear! My response was that is why Jesus came and died for your sin. He, no doubt, was searching and asked me to correspond with him. Like all people, he needs to embrace by faith, that “God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” “He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” It is through faith in Jesus Christ that we are “released… from our sins” so that we can go to heaven and stand before God as if we had never sinned. Only through faith in Christ can the fear of the consequences of sin be turned into “Praise the Lord” both now and in heaven. Be encouraged!
