"Like newborn babes, long for the pure milk of the word, that by it you may grow in respect to salvation."
- 1 Peter 2:2
I trust that you know what a privilege it is to have a Bible. In Siberia, we gave away Bibles to students where only one out of fifty had their own copy of the Word of God. It wasn’t until 2011 that the tribal people of South Central Siberia had the complete Bible in their own language. Recently, I came across an article that says the Bible now ranks twenty-first among the thirty-five most banned books due to its religious views. Hopefully, you realize how exceedingly blessed you are to have a Bible because of what it does for you as you read, study and meditate upon the Word. The Scripture makes you “adequate, equipped for every good work”; the good work of a leader or a servant, the good work of “handling accurately the word of Truth,” the good work as a husband, wife or parent. The good work of growing in your faith, taking a stand for the Truth, seeing lives changed (including yours) and seeing sinners saved by grace. Do I need to say it? Be encouraged!
