encouragement side

“Behold, He is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him; and all the tribes of the earth will mourn over Him. Even so. Amen.”

-Revelation 1:7

When Christ returns to execute judgment upon this world, every person who has ever lived will see Him. Those who have rejected Him as Lord and Savior will know that Jesus is the Lord God and Savior of all who have believed. The first time, Jesus came to seek and to save the lost and provided a means of salvation for mankind. At His second coming, He will come "dealing out retribution to those who do not know God and to those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus." Therefore, those who have rejected Him will wail and mourn at their impending judgment. How can this truth encourage us? First, we should not be ashamed of the gospel. As Paul said, if we "know the terror of the Lord," now is the time to "persuade men" to "be reconciled to God" through faith in Christ. Secondly, having been "justified by His grace," we should always give thanks that "God has not destined us for wrath, but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ."
