encouragement Christmas

"For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men."

- Titus 2:11

With just six days until Christmas, we might ask the question, why did God in His grace send His only begotten Son to be born in Bethlehem? The Lord Himself would answer, “to save that which was lost.” Paul would add, because He “desires all men to be saved”. Peter would add, He is “not willing that any to perish...” The writer of Hebrews would sum it up by saying, “that by the grace of God He might taste death for everyone.” J.C. Ryle writes, “He cares for all: His heart is wide enough to take an interest in all mankind; His compassion extends to every man, woman and child on earth… Sinners… will never be able to say that Christ was not merciful, and was not ready to save… If men do not have eternal life it is never because God did not love them, or because Christ was not given for them, but because they do not believe on Christ.” We should not write off anyone as unsaveable. Because the grace of God has appeared in the person of Christ Jesus, it is possible for all to be saved, yes, even those among our family and friends. Be encouraged!
