"...but one sinner destroys much good."
-Ecclesiastes 9: 18
Last week the actions of one man resulted in death, legal protests accompanied by illegal rioting, looting, destruction and a disregard for the law. It is almost incalculable the harm one person can do. However, this is the story of human history for we read in Scripture, “Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned.” That led to Cain slaying Abel, and history has repeated itself ever since. But we also read in Scripture, “For as through the one man's disobedience the many were made sinners, even so through the obedience of the One, the many will be made righteous.” Without Christ, one is capable of destructive sin not only to themselves but to many around them. The people of this nation need to repent of their sins and by faith turn to the righteousness that is found in Christ. For, “He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” For we who have turned from our sin to Christ know “the work of righteousness will be peace, and the service of righteousness, quietness and confidence forever.” Be encouraged!
