“Jesus wept.”

-John 11:35

The shortest verse of the English Bible has much to say. Spurgeon preached two sermons on this text. Three times in the gospels, we see our Lord in tears. Truly He was a "man of sorrows and acquainted with grief." Are you in tears? He was there before you. Are you suffering? He suffered even more. Are you troubled? So was He, yet without sin. When we face the struggles of humanity, a sympathetic and compassionate Lord is always nearby. Life has many setbacks, and we live in the day of the exaltation of victimhood. You are not a victim; you are victorious in Christ! Be encouraged!
