"...the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect."

-Romans 12:2

We all should desire to be in God's will. God's will may be to be at peace, in good health or financial security. On the other hand, it may be persecution, failing health or financial loss. In either case, it is better to be in God's will than not. God's will is good. It may present difficulties and can be hard to endure, yet it is good, for God knows what is best for you. Because it is acceptable to God, it ought to be acceptable to you. If it pleases Him, it should please you. God's will is good and acceptable because it is perfect. For example, it was God's will -- good, acceptable, and perfect -- that Christ would die on the cross for you. Sometimes we cannot understand how it could be God's will when it seems like everything is going wrong. God is sovereign and knows the end from the beginning. Nothing you encounter takes Him by surprise. "For it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure." Be encouraged!
