"For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men..."

-Romans 1:18

God has summed up all of man's sin as ungodly and unrighteous. By ungodly, we have sinned against the creator God. By unrighteousness, we live in rejection of God and live as if he did not exist. The Scripture is clear that by the creation alone, all should know there is a God, and all should live for God without excuse. But how is it possible for mankind to escape the ungodly, unrighteous trap that all find themselves in? Only God could provide the one and only answer. We read in Romans 5: 6, "For while we were still helpless, at the right time, Christ died for the ungodly." We read in 1 John 5:17 that "all unrighteousness is sin," which takes us back to Romans 5:8, "but God demonstrates his own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” So now the ungodliness and unrighteousness of sinful man has been dealt with by Christ dying on the cross. That is the good news of the gospel for all who place their faith in Him. No greater truth can be revealed, "For if we were enemies (ungodly and unrighteous), we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son." Be encouraged!
