“...and the Scripture cannot be broken.”
-John 10:35
The Lord was confirming the Scripture cannot be annulled, set aside, or proven false. But today, there are pastors, teachers, churches, and seminaries who believe the Scripture needs to be changed with the changing culture. They believe the Bible's position on racial issues, women's rights, marriage, and gender issues are offensive to the modern reader. Well, so is the gospel. Are we going to change the gospel? If one would ask what does, the Bible says to our present culture, the answer would be - it will say exactly what it has always said. Since we live in a fallen world, the Scripture will always be counter cultural. Political correctness, cancel culture, and wokeness will never line up with the word of God. But for us, who are the children of God by faith, the Bible is our infallible guide and standard of authority. "Whatever it teaches is to be believed, and whatever it commands is to be obeyed; whatever it commends is to be accepted as both right and useful; whatever it condemns is to be avoided as both wrong and hurtful.” Jesus said, “Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.” Yes, “the word of the Lord abides forever, and this is the word that was preached to you.” Be encouraged!
