"For a wide door for effective service has opened to me, and there are many adversaries."
- 1 Corinthians 16:9
As believers, we want to serve the Lord, but do we want the adversity that comes with it? We prefer to be accepted by and comfortable with all those around us. The Lord uses adversity to strengthen us so we can serve Him. Without adversity, we can become too comfortable, to the point we do not pray and seek the open door. On the other hand, adversity can drive us to Christ so we have the strength to serve the Lord regardless of the cost. Do not shy away from adversity. It is God’s way of getting us out of our comfort zone and out into a world that desperately needs Christ. Are you among those who by faith take full advantage of the opportunities the Lord gives you to proclaim Him to the lost? We must remember that in our Lord, we are “more than conquerors through Him who loves us.” And that includes the fear of adversity. Be encouraged!
