encouragement side3

"...my circumstances have turned out for the greater progress of the gospel."

- Philippians 1:12

Paul had suffered much and was now in prison, but the Lord used his circumstances to further the gospel. Joseph was sold into slavery which resulted in the preservation of God’s chosen people. Moses suffered rejection but was chosen by God to lead the Israelites out of slavery. Jesus suffered the agony of the cross which made salvation available to all who would believe. The early church suffered a great persecution and turned the world upside down for Christ. God often allows believers to suffer hardship to strengthen their character and to give greater credence to their witness and testimony. Most people desire a trouble free life, but as believers living in this present evil age, it is seldom that we can be at peace and ease with a hostile world. Conflicts and oppression will come, but how should we respond? We should seek to turn adversity into an opportunity to glorify our Lord. Be encouraged!
