"If you abide in My Word, then you are truly My disciples."

-John 8:31

In my years of missions in Siberia, it was rare to find someone who had a Bible. Here in the States, we find many who have numerous Bibles. Look at a Christian book catalog, and you will find versions of every kind. It is one thing to possess a Bible; it is another to abide in His Word. Salvation occurs in a moment, but following Christ as His disciple is for the rest of one's life. To abide means to continue in His Word, which means to read, meditate, memorize, cross reference, and let the Scripture explain the Scripture until we know the whole counsel of God. This will not happen overnight; therefore, we must continue. We live in a time when it is so easy to pursue biblical knowledge from some other source rather than continuing in the Scripture. Christianity is full of various opinions, interpretations, theologies, and theories. The Bible is God's message for mankind to enable man by His grace to know the Truth, Jesus Christ, and His Word. The Bible is for you. Blessed is the one who knows Christ as their Savior and continues in His Word as their source of truth with simple childlike faith. May that one be you. Be encouraged!
