Attend the May 4th Board Meeting

BID OPERATIONS ARE MOVING FORWARD!

1. The Coalition for Responsible Community Development (CRCD) will commence their contracted services the first week in May! CRCD received a Clean & Green grant from The New 9th for graffiti removal, sidewalk power washing, trash removal and bulky item pick-up in the 9th District so CAHD will only pay CRCD for street cleaning services. Look out for the Clean Streets Team next week and be sure to share your thoughts on how CAHD can help improve the corridor.
2. The Safety Ambassador RFP bid responses are due on May 4th.
3. The Bank Account will be opened at East West Bank, the financial institution approved by CAHD on 4/6/16.
4. The insurance policy with Philadelphia Indemnity Insurance was bound on 4/15/16 and approved by the City of Los Angeles on 4/18/16.
5. Eugene Van Cise, Office of the City Clerk, stated that the last day for property owners to pay their 2016 assessment fees will be July 31st. All unpaid 2016 assessment fees will be added to property owners' 2017 tax bill from the County of Los Angeles.

The Board Needs Your Input!

CAHD Voted on 4/6/16 to Accept a $175,000 Grant Over 5 Years from the REEF. Now CAHD is seeking input to determine if a Letter of Support should be provided to the proposed REEF Development Project to be located on Washington Boulevard between Hill and Main Streets. The grant does not obligate CAHD to provide a support letter.

The question is: What impact might the REEF have on Central Avenue Corridor properties and businesses, positive or negative? Should we ask for any mitigation measures? Your input is welcome!

Please email your thoughts and comments no later than May 1 to: bid@centralavenuehistoricdistrict.org.
