"...go and take word to My brethren..."
-Matthew 28:10
When Christ died on the cross, all the brethren had scattered. No doubt they were fearful, spiritually weak and lacking in faith. Peter claimed he would follow the Lord unto death, but a slave girl brought him to the point of denying Christ. Even so, after His resurrection, the risen Lord longed to see those who had let Him down. Although His disciples forsook Him, He would not forsake them. Even though they failed Him, He would not fail them. How often do we fail our Lord and let Him down? It does not seem to take much to bring us to silence concerning Christ. Yes, it can often be said of us, “O you of little faith…” However, we read in Scripture, “If we are faithless, He remains faithful; for He cannot deny Himself.”
“Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father,
There is no shadow of turning with Thee;
Thou changest not, Thy compassions they fail not;
As Thou has been Thou forever wilt be.
Great is Thy faithfulness Lord, unto me!"
Be encouraged!
