"It was for freedom that Christ set us free..."

Joe Namath is featured in a Medicare ad that ends by him exclaiming, “It's free!” They know, “It's free!” will get the attention of many. On the other hand, when it comes to the free gift of God, many just continue to ignore it. The “free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Jesus said, “you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” Jesus is the truth that sets one free. This free gift encompasses freedom from the power, penalty and someday the presence of sin. It means all eternity with God. You cannot work for it. It's free! You cannot earn it. It's free! It is not a matter of your good outweighing your bad. It's free! It is not a matter of self-mortification or sacrifice. It's free! It is not a matter of religious rituals or practices. It's free! It is not a matter of submission or obedience. It's free! It is a matter of faith. Do you believe that it is free? It is a matter of who you place your faith in. Only Christ can set you free. Be encouraged! It's free!
