"For if I preach the gospel, I have nothing to boast of, for I am under compulsion; for woe is me if I do not preach the gospel."

- 1 Corinthians 9:16

The life of Paul and his burning desire to proclaim Christ should be an example for all believers to follow. I am thankful that the Holy Spirit still gives such urgency and conviction to all who will follow Christ. One of the reasons Islam is predicted to pass Christianity as the world’s largest religion in this century is that much of Christianity has lost its passion to proclaim the gospel. A personal relationship with Christ, the indwelling Holy Spirit and the Word of God in our hearts are all we need to produce an excitement for Christ in our own lives. I give credit to all these as I find myself under compulsion to proclaim the gospel on the Reservation this month, as I begin my 30th year of ministry among the Navajos. So may we all say, with the Apostles of old, “we cannot stop speaking what we have seen and heard”. May the “love of Christ control us” so that we become “ambassadors for Christ.” Thank the Lord, not just for the open doors and the privilege to make Him known but also for the conviction and power to do so. Be encouraged!
